Finally the consultant can read and advance!

Anna Ramtu is a consultant with Bible Translation & Literacy (BTL) East Africa and is now a gifted trainer of Biblical Hebrew at beginners' level.

During her training as a translator decades ago she did not succeed. "I studied Hebrew, but I could not read Hebrew. I barely understood much", she points out. Now during the intensive course, "in fact in less than a week I was able to read, and I am progressing well. I am so excited about this opportunity!"

And Annah continues: "It is so amazing. It gets exciting day after day." She is also grateful that she can now help others. For me as the learning designer and the facilitator in class it was very helpful that I could entrust other learners to get advice from her on how to improve their learning activities.

Now after the two intensive courses Annah will be able to mentor a young learner from BTL - as much as time and job permits. But instructing others is the most forceful way to learn!

The story of Annah on the inability to read seems to be the challenge that many students in Kenya has. Many had classes, but most could not read, let alone really use Hebrew professionally for Bible translation. Annah can demonstrate how to read a text aloud with precission and speed and she is a gift for the training project in Kenya.
