The best man in Hebrew appreciates the sacrifices

Senior translation consultant Vincent Hiribae has worked for a long time as a translation consultant with Bible Translation and Literacy (EA) in Kenya.

At the end of the pilot project to train-the-trainers of Biblical Hebrew at PAC University he points out how valuable it is for the project that the courses can be offered in person and free of charge. As a translator he wanted to participate in an online course that would cost 550 USD. He could only pay half of this amount and therefore only audited it. It is quite clear that both he and the trainers sincere appreciate this opportunity to learn more.

Most of the pilot project was funded by a Danish Christian who learned Biblical Hebrew in my classroom and he is now helping 12 others who need it for teaching and translation.

In the future such "language learning angles" in Denmark can support the work through tax-deductable gifts offered through Wycliffe Denmark (see here in English and in Danish). This crucial supprort is the only way that I can continue and scale up in Kenya and hopefully reach out and assist other institutions and individuals who need this kind of training.

I have known about Vincent in the past and in fact he was recommended to me as the best man for Hebrew in Kenya.

Vincent has studied Biblical Hebrew in the immersion method for a year in Israel almost ten years ago. He has told me that attending class with a teacher who only spoke Hebrew did not really help him very much.

I therefore appreciate that Vincent recommends my Global Biblical Hebrew and Bible Online Leaner as a supperior approach which can even help senior experts. The blend between an intensive full week where we play and engage in class followed by three month or more online while working with translation projects is very strong.
