God sharpens the axe for Bible translators!
Reverend Fred Etyang´ Mamai is a pastor but has also worked for the Bible Society of Kenya and been involved in a Bible translation. He is a Masters' student at Sct. Paul´s University.
In his endorsement of the course, Fred uses the wise words of Ecclesiastes 10:10: "If the axe is blunt, and one does not sharpen the edge, he must use more strength, but wisdom helps one to succeed." He uses this strong image of the sharpened axe to point out that Bible translators should be wise and pick the right tools for their personal training.
He is convinced that this course will help him train better as a Bible translator. However, his vision is broader. He is concerned that the people of God should turn to the truth of the Scripture and should study it well.
He only joined the course in June. For the next months he will have access to the teaching sessions. He will also join the students and PAC, and he will get individual help from Tabitha.
